Hockey Stick Holder
***UPDATED 10/21/2024***
Hello,
A simple project to hold my son’s hockey sticks. I spent about 3 days surfing the web for a hockey stick holder. I didn’t see anything that I liked , so I decided to make one.
I saw this cart at Harbor Freight for $129.00 and thought about modifying it.
NOTE, as of 10/21/2024 the cart in this post may not be carried any longer, by there is a larger version, 36” x 24”, the below link has been corrected. *
Here’s how it went;
I used a 2-3/8 Inch Bi-Metal Hole Saw and a hole saw Mandrel to cut holes into the top tray of the cart.
The bottoms of the trays are “sectioned” so it made spacing the holes easy, no measurements were needed. I used a portable drill, but a power drill would have been a little easier.
{What the photos don’t show is that, I drilled the wrong tray in the beginning. When my son put the cart together, the error was embarrassing. So , I had to cut another set of holes in the other tray. I covered up the bottom set of holes with a cheap fitness mat from Walmart. The mat also keeps the sticks from sliding around.]
I used 500 grit sandpaper to smooth out the holes.
****Note ****
This is the bottom tray that I messed up on, I went by the photo on the box cover. It is deceptive, as the box photo does not show the corner indents that hold the wheels on. Use the photos in the directions to drill and assemble the cart. :)
I was worried that the cart would be top heavy with all the sticks inside, but the cart is stable and can easily be moved around when cleaning his room.
On a scale of 1 to 10, my mechanical skills are a solid “2”, so if I can build it, you can too.
All while enjoying some Cuban Coffee,,,,,
